Universal Tow Smart Vehicle Under Tow Sign

A readable under-tow sign for the small car behind your motorhome: made to fit, fold, and travel with you.

Flat towing a car or 4WD behind a motorhome makes sense on the road, but other drivers need to see that second vehicle clearly. The Tow Smart Universal sign is for common flat-towed hatches and small 4WDs used by Australian motorhomers.

Custom quote

Regular is the Vehicle Under Tow layout. Speed Limit is the same sign with the 90 km/h speed display included on it.

Who the Universal Sign Suits

This is the general-fit Tow Smart sign when you tow a small hatch or 4WD and want something easier to use and store than improvised signage.

  • Motorhomers and grey nomads flat-towing a second vehicle
  • Drivers whose old sign has faded or no longer mounts cleanly
  • Popular towed models include Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Ignis, Hyundai Getz, Fiat 500 Pop, Kia Rio, and Mercedes Smart Car. Tell me if yours is not listed
  • Travellers who want a sign that folds away rather than bulky rigid boards

Made to Be Seen

A Vehicle Under Tow sign has one important job: make it immediately clear to approaching drivers that the vehicle ahead is being towed.

Tow Smart signs use large, high-contrast lettering so approaching drivers can recognise the message from behind, which is the whole point of the sign. It stays practical to fit, remove, fold and store.

The result is a highly visible sign designed specifically for Australian motorhome and A-frame towing.

Towing requirements can vary between states and territories. Before travelling, it is always sensible to check the latest advice from the relevant transport authority.

  • Two stock layouts: Regular ($97 including GST) and Speed Limit ($127 including GST). Speed Limit is in stock, not a custom order
  • Custom is a quote for odd sizes or designs not covered by Universal/Vitara and Regular/Speed Limit

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my car?

The Universal sign is the usual starting point for common small hatches and 4WDs. Vitara owners should look at the Vitara-specific sign. If you are not sure, send me a photo or the approximate width across the rear, or call or text me with your model.

What is the 90 km/h speed-limit version?

Speed Limit is the Regular sign with a 90 km/h speed display included on the same piece of fabric, $127 including GST. It is a stock option, not a legal-compliance statement. The Speed Limit message is a little wider than Regular, so send your rear-window width or a photo and I'll confirm it fits. Custom remains a quote for odd sizes and designs not covered by Universal/Vitara and Regular/Speed Limit.

Is delivery included?

Standard Australia Post is free. Express Post is $9.90 extra, chosen at checkout. Replacement signs under the twelve-month unconditional guarantee are posted free to any Australian address you specify.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes. Tow Smart signs come with a twelve-month unconditional replacement guarantee. It doesn’t matter if you lose it, the dog eats it, or it gets struck by lightning and vaporised — whatever. Your sign will be replaced absolutely free and posted to any Australian address you specify, so you can be on your way again ASAP. That sits alongside your Australian Consumer Law rights, which cannot be excluded.

Do towing requirements vary between states?

Towing requirements can vary between states and territories. Before travelling, it is always sensible to check the latest advice from the relevant transport authority. The visibility guide links to official government starting points.

Not Sure Universal Is Right for Your Rig?

Send your towed vehicle details. I'll tell you whether the Universal or Vitara size is the better match, and whether Regular or Speed Limit is the layout you want. Odd sizes and designs are quoted as custom.
